About Me

I consider myself to be a warm and caring individual, with a passion to support people in the best way that I can. For over 25 years I have worked in front line care services with people of all ages, from all walks of life. I have always been fascinated by relationships; the relationships people have with one another, with me and with themselves. This was the reason I trained as a Therapist.

Now, with over 10 years' experience of therapeutic counselling, I have engaged with clients in community settings, charities, local authority, high security establishments, EAPs and in private practice, on a wide variety of topics. I have significant experience in working successfully with clients in areas including; grief and loss, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, PTSD, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and surviving physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse & violence.

I specialise in empowering and supporting women to navigate through challenging, and sometimes very difficult life changes and transitions, including; perimenopause/menopause, changes in health/body/appearance, pregnancy, termination, miscarriage, baby loss and bereavement, postnatal depression, separation and divorce, empty nesting, career change, retirement and caring for elderly parents.

I strive to deliver excellent service to my clients and supervisees, maintaining professional and ethical practice at all times. My qualifications include:

  • Post Qualification Advanced Supervisor Training in Supervising Groups & Supervisors
  • OCN Accredited Certificate in Counselling Supervision
  • Integrated Coaching Academy Certificate in Therapeutic Coaching
  • Advanced Post Diploma Certificate in Person Centred Couples Counselling
  • CPCAB Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Therapeutic Counselling
  • CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • UKOL Diploma in Substance Abuse and Drug Awareness

I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Senior Accredited member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and I adhere to their code of ethics. I am also a member of the Person Centred Association.

In addition, I hold a current, enhanced DBS certificate, I am registered with the ICO in line with General Data Protection Regulation and I undertake continued professional development on a regular basis to improve and update my skills and knowledge.

.........But that’s enough about me, this should be about you and your needs. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I would be privileged if you choose to make contact.
